Fine, if any injuries occur, Bodybuilding workouts should not be resume immediately as it may cause further damages and the dame may be critical, serious and also permanent.

Following are the things that you should do after an injury takes place:

  1. Minimize the Damage caused
  2. Initiate speedy Recovery from injury
  3. Avoid the risk of any future injury

MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE CAUSED:

If you injure yourself the first thing you should do is to get yourself examined by a doctor. Do not attempt to self diagnose or take help from your Gym friends as it may cause further damage.

If you have injured your important joints such as knee, elbows, wrists, shoulders, lower back get yourself examined by a doctor no matter how minor the injury is.

INITIATE SPEEDY RECOVERY FROM INJURY

As soon as you get hurt immediately apply ice on it,

For Example, if you accidentally drop weight on your foot, immediately apply ice on that injured part of foot, this will keep the swelling at Bay and thus the recovery from injury will be fast.

Take adequate rest after that, do not resume bodybuilding immediately, take a week’s rest or follow what your doctor says.

However this does not mean you need to be off the gym, if you injure your elbow you can still workout your legs, abs. But you need to be more carefull and also have a spot attendant with you when you perform the various exercises.

AVOID THE RISK OF ANY FUTURE INJURY

Learn your lesson, and be extra careful the next time you are handling weights. Resume your Bodybuilding regimen in a full fledged way only when you are fully fit and your injury has been completely healed.

Also, wear your supporters, your wrist bands and good quality footwear so that the risk of injury is minimized.

Always have a spot attendant with you when you perform reps to failure so that the spot attendant can help you out when you are exhausted lifting those heavy weights.
